I get calls from folks wanting us to match groupon prices on carpet cleaning.. One lady was saying she saw one for 59 dollars they would clean 3 room up to 600 st ft.. Now i can tell you with gas, equipment, tech, and insurance cost there is no way a reputably company can drive to your house and do all that for $59  and do a good job.. They are most likely going to be upselling the whole time and if you don't go for the up sale they do a poor job of carpet cleaning..

I have been behind these guys and most customers tell us they will NOT use them again.

Spring is finally here so that means Spring cleaning is at hand for carpets in Raleigh nc.

I know how you feel with the weather of late.. cold, rainy and down right miserably. Well now that spring is trying to spring.. you might think about getting carpets and floors cleaned in your home.

WHY..

When a housed is closed up during the winter and cold spring we have experienced thus far, the carpet and furniture can be full of stuff..  Even with regular vacuuming it still needs a BATH.. that right even your beautiful carpet needs a bath every so often.

Vacuuming is good at getting dry soil out of the carpet for the most part. The effectiveness of the vacuum depends on how often you clean the filters and emptied out dust or bag filters. The stuff that the vacuum can NOT get is deep in the fiber and very small. Stuff like dust, dander, skin and dust mites, pollen and a whole list of other stuff.

Plus if you have pets you get a whole new soup of stuff in the carpet as you well know.

SO,

the carpet makers recommend HWE, hot water extraction as the preferred method of cleaning most wall to wall carpet.  You may know or have heard of Steam cleaning,, this is the same process, HWE is the official name.

Using a soil loosening pre-spray on the carpet, it is rinsed with high pressure, very hot water that cleans the fiber and removes the dirt while the powerful vacuum removes the soil and dirty water to special tank located on companies van located outside the home. This method cleans to the bottom of the fiber while only leaving the carpet slightly damp to the touch..

Carpet cleaned properly with good air flow from ceiling fan if present can be dry in 1-2 hrs.  Most times it dry in 3 hrs for teh most part.. If you had the carpet cleaned in past and the carpet was still wet feeling 5-6 hrs later THEY DID A POOR JOB.  This can cause mold and mildew issues.

WHEN..

again the carpet makers recommend cleaning at least once every 2 yrs, especially if you carpet is new this is required to maintain the warranty the carpet may have.

Super Bowl Sunday In Ralegih NC

Another super bowl party another football champion and all is well. They weather in Dallas has been the worst they has had in long time.. kinda makes you wonder about global warming.. i bet they are wishing for a warm spell that started on Monday this week not next Monday.. but i hear the weather will be nice for game time.

Its kinda like home field advantage for both team with all the snow and ice around. Travel to Dallas has been slow to non-existent this week creating a lot of nervous ticket holders, to the tune of like $2,000 per ticket, worrying about if they are even going to be able to get there. Man that has got to be a bummer paying all that money and not able to get to the game..

To me the best seat in the house is my lazy boy with a refrig full of cold cheap beer..

HOT weather IAQ and you.

As most everyone is aware this summer has been a hot one so far with no signs of letting up. That means we are spending more time indoors with the AC running full blast and the Indoor Air Quality( IAQ) is going down..

Why down you say. ??

When we spend more time inside the doors, windows are kept closed all the pollutents that come in with us as we travel around from home to work, the grocery store and of course the mall are trapped in there with us. Its harder to get the vacuum out as we are tired from the heat and work in general so letting it ride a bit longer seem easy way out..

Unfortunately that means you and your family are breathing in more and more of this polluted air.. What can you do about this problem.. Glad you ask..!!

1.)... run the vacuum more often.. but before you turn it on remove and replace the bag first thing, if so equipped. If not make sure the dust cup is clean and all filters are removed and washed out with soap and water,. Also if you have a hepa filter make sure it clean or replace with new one.

2.) check the air filter for the AC.. if you have not replaced them in the last 30 days do so now. I suggest the more expensive pleated type filters. They look like a "W" and do a better job of removing dust etc.. forget the CHEAP fiberglass filters you can see through.. they do NOTHING or almost nothing to help with IAQ..


3.) if you have not cleaned the carpet in the past 12 months now's a good time to do that as well.. Hot Water Extraction or HWE, aka Steam Cleaning, is a deep cleaning with very hot water that helps remove the dirt, dust and pollution from down in the carpet. With the warm weather and AC running most carpets are dry in 2-4 hrs.

So there you have it. A couple of tips for helping you are your family breath a bit more easy.

The past couple day have been quite warm days making carpet cleaning in raleigh and cary NC tougher every day..

Yesterday we topped out at 96 deg.. today I think they are calling for 99 to 102 deg before its all said and done.

Have to tell you that make for a long hot day of carpet cleaning in and around the Raleigh area..

We had a bit of a slow down in calls this week as I think most are thinking about vacations and staying cool.

New/Used van added to fleet of carpet cleaning machines for Raleigh NC..

Found a nice used van with top of the line carpet cleaning equiptment in Atlanta last week.. Flew down on Sat morning to see it in person.. (had seen a bunch of picture) and was impressed with the total package..

Drove van to local Truck-Mount manufacturers location and did some much needed upgrades to equipment on board.
